There has been a lot of criticism over high street banks in the UK since the credit crunch and banking crisis impacted on the loan and finance sectors, particularly with regard to their reluctance to offer business loans to small and medium sized businesses. However, new lending on business loans has seen a dramatic increase over the course of the second three months of this year, following additional pressure on banks from the government and promises from the big banks to lend £190 billion worth of business loans throughout this year.
